Elegant in your simplicity, Tom. (EDIT: Toms.)

Man, it was over so fast........  I'm almost reluctant to believe it's really over (but hope it is).

McCain gave a very eloquent concession speech.   And I mean that sincerely.

Maybe the nation's long, Republican nightmare is coming to an end.  What we need is 60 Democrats in the Senate and then we have the tools to turn this country around.

There are people in Europe tonight who are holding U.S. Election parties to celebrate Obama's win.  We elected the guy the world wanted to see as president.  It is good to have the rest of the world pulling with us as we try to undo the tremendous hurt and damage of the last 8 years.

Now... we just need to arrest George W. Bush and Richard B. Cheney for war crimes.  And we need to drag to the House those who have shunned Congressional subpoenas...

Oh... am I jumping too far ahead?  OK.

Hooray for us!

He got 338 Electoral votes, as opposed to McCain's 128.

Palin pretty much put the nail in their coffin....the Couric interview, prank phone call in the last couple of days. Way beyond inept.

This economy can't take another 4 years of dismantling for large corporations, at the expense of the little person or smaller business. So I have hope. We're tied in intrinsically to the US' fate, so I, as well as many people I know were on pins and needles.

Thankfully, the good guys won in this one. Seeing Bush get in for the last two elections was a real drag.

I agree. They've stilted the laws and evaded responsibility for 8 years now. They never found what they were looking for, destroyed the American economy, and created a situation where they're....well, it's like they pulled out a tumor (Saddam) that they didn't realize was connected to a major artery--they pulled it out, and then realized that the whole system went down and nearly imploded.

I will not be taking another sigh of relief untill Jan 20, they couldn't steal this one but it isn't over till there gone.
I don't want to rain on the parade but I'm still worried.
I am however so very proud of this country that finally got over a huge racial hurdle.

Great news!
Good speech by McCain too.
Been watching the progress, at intervals, all arvo (Wednesday here) and must say, that, together with some work mates, the celebration is on. A few beers will be had on our way home from work.
