The uploadformat is 192kpbs mp3.

You might want to read the big red announcement at the top of the forum that says IMP (what it is and what the rules are).

Perfect.  Thanks.

Riiiight, download time.

What was I thinking?

I don't have time for download time.

320 would be rad, though.

To allow ridiculous plugin counts of course.

Actually, weren't they 16 bit at a time to keep the size down?

Perhaps I dreamt it all...

I mean why are they 48k when a cd is 44.1?

Making music at 48 or 96 just means having to do ugly math to it at the end.  44.1 or 88.2 are the ideal sample rates for making a recording destined for CD.

My understanding is that the math is the same for all conversions. Upsample to a common multiple of the two rates, then sample back down.

So how'd you convince Ben Gibbard to donate tracks?

88.1 and 96 are resource hogs and it's hard for me to mix ITB on HD2 with 50 + tracks at those sample rates.

to me, 48k sounds a tiny bit deeper.  i could be totally fooling myself but whatever.

a really good SRC makes the conversion a non-issue, like the ones that any quality mastering house has.

CD's are dead anyway.  this whole argument is becoming a moot point, if it hasn't already been one for years.

anyone else give this one a go yet?  I can't believe how much more fun (and easy) it is to mix tracks that were well recorded in the first place...  amazing how that works eh? Cool
