I'm from the other side of the country...and no, it ain't that big.

:o

But really, when you come from a land where most of the flora, and all of the fauna wants to kill you, the old Noah there is just another entry on the list.

NO THIS is a BIG SHARK - The largest fish on the planet

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5KVZ-2ZgUY

and one of their favorite place to congregate is Australia...

Magnificent creatures. To bad they are also on the endangered species list. I guess they are considered good eating by some nationalities and their numbers are dwindling.

Sure its not the biggest  you might see but it is about twenty feet in the surfzone in the shallow water  right where you would be swimming around bashing into the waves on a nice day

As the father of a couple of little kids i just love the way the kids are just making sand castles without a care
Sometimes I wish  my life was that carefree  again :)

anyway back to your normal programming
sorry for the diversion Brad

It did. I was working in Canberra for a while in the late 90's and we used to drive across to the coast to Batemans Bay to take photos of the fish `caught' in the clear waves like that. Waited all day sometimes, drinking Coopers, talking rubbish in big hats in the sunshine.

I really miss Oz-daze days.

You lucky buggers.

Cheers,

Eric

God, the first thing I thought was ... ooh lordy! I miss those waves! Wanted to have my surfboards back, and was having a gray rainy NY day of missing California surf sand fun sun ..

Then I saw the friendly fellow, and terror shook my bones  *shudder* . . . the dolphins jumping and birds diving into the water around you is magical while you're waiting for a set to roll in .. but even the tiny guys always freaked me out. . .   That one is big. (big enough at least) .

(maybe surfing isn't the best hobby for a city kid who can't swim) .. but Go big or Go home, that's the American way ... right? I got really really good at not loosing the board, but wow, I miss the ocean  <3

hmmm .. maybe i should move to OZ  ;)  gotta to talk to the lady ...

If you hold them upside-down like that they're going to get really angry.

Nice to see you here Rick,

It's why I don't swim at the beach. I've been beach fishing with a mate a few times at dusk and the amount of strikes that can only be sharks is incredible. We've even pulled in a few stingray down at Bulli. Once, with the lines out and sipping a few brews, a stranger asked us "anything out there?". The reply from John was a swift "it's where they live...!!!".
