I use a microphone to record vocals....Does that help?

Seriously though, if you don't lay out some context, your going to get silly answers and no real productive/inspiring/helpful ones.

i like sm-7

i love earthworks mics.  haven't met one i didn't really like yet.

i love api mic pres.

i have a few sphere EQ's that are really vibey.  i usually use them on drums.

my focusrite red 3 and ssl 384 i'm not sure i could live without.

my patchbays sure make life easier too.

I feel like I use a 414 for nearly everything (vox, acoustic geeetar, sometimes OH, heck, I even got a pretty good sax sound out of it).

I think I'm even going to use it this evening to fix a leaky faucet.

Apogee converters, both -16x and Rosetta.  

Seriously, it's not a fun or hip thing to talk about, but everything I record, monitor, and mix goes thru those things, and they never let me down.  No nasty surprises, no tech issues, no doubts...

Oh, and I used to have a C-12VR that would probably have made a good hammer.  It wasn't good for much else.

Luckily I managed to sell it without getting hosed too bad...
