I viewed it without the audio, cause I'm to lazy to get my headphones out right now.

It doesn't look like the Range Safety Officer blew that one with his button. You can see one of the Solid Rockets not running. Anyway, what a shit-storm of burning metal. jeesh.

The hell of it is, this occurred on January 17th (1997), 5 1/2 months before the 4th of July.

Alas, even in rocket science the occasional slight miscalculation seems to be inevitable.

The cause was a 17 foot crack in one of the boosters.

Yeah made by Morton Thiokol, the folks who amply illustrated the problem with solids strapped to a giant fuel tank when the fire doesn't just come out of the bottom of them.

Larr,

I feel your anger.

When Cristie McCauliff went down with the ship, we all looked for answers why.

I know that this is not the best answer, and I hate politics, but the bad weather forecast was overcome by considerations for the state of the union address, but, give them a break, this could not have been planned.

If we are talking about such-same bad decisions in WW I or WW II, who's to notice?

But it was not war, and it still hurts me, and hurts all of us, the peuirille politics aside.

TY Ms. McCaulliffe, we still hear you every day.

Don't laugh too hard, kids.

That's the technology they're replacing the Shuttle with.
