I have a 3-card Ensoniq PARIS system, with an 80 gig boot drive and 120 gig audio drive running on a Win 98 computer.  I'd like to keep PARIS and upgrade to a Win XP computer.  I would very much appreciate recommendations re mother boards, hard drives, etc. in order to build the XP machine.  My sequenced audio comes from a separate computer with Giga Studio (although I convert all of these tracks two at a time to digital audio in PARIS before mixing), and I use the on board PARIS effects, so I don't need a huge amount of processing power.  My mixes run 32 to 48 tracks at 16 bit.

It seems there are drivers for XP, but the big issue could turn out to be the PCI slots on the new mother board. Paris PCI cards are 5v, whereas new PCI slots are 3.3v and the Paris interfaces will not fit in those. You need something like an external Magma chassis for them to work.

Checked out magma and sbs pci chassis - insanely expensive, more than the rest of the computer put together.  Arn't there any WIN XP computers with 5v pci slots?

You should be able to land a second hand Magma chassis for maybe $700.
