Studer capstan motor grease
« on: June 07, 2004, 06:39:19 PM »

Hello all,

I have in my possesion two Studer A807 machines that I am restoring, and I am looking for the recommended grease for the capstan motors.  The manual (and sticker on the motors) calls for "Constant Gly 2100".  I called Studer here in Canada and they no longer carry this particular grease. Is there a commonly available substitute?  What are other Studer folks using for their capstan motors?

Thanks,

- J. LaPointe

It's not grease - it's an oil.  Call Jeff Gillman at Precision Motorworks - ask about Studer "Kluber" oil and he'll give you the whole rundown.
