I hate to say this (only because of how tardy I am in doing this), but I just listened to Pastmasters Volume II on my system through my B&Ws yesterday, and it was amazing.

So I'll say that, in particular, hearing Day Tripper, Hey Jude, Revolution, and Don't Let Me Down completely floored me.  Whether that's valid or not is up to you guys.  Just floored.

I quit music yesterday.  And restarted again this morning.

NICE.  glad you dig it.

what's your favorite tune at the moment?  i'm always curious what songs resonate with people.

i don't necessarily think it's the best track, but i love how the first song sets up the record. so sludgy and slow! it must be 70bpm..

i probably like the sludgy ones the best, like the end of "Demon Cobra" and "King's Brass Knuckles", but the uptempo ones are all really strong too. the 2nd song has an almost radio-ready chorus, too bad you called it "You're Fucking Dead!" heh.

oh yeah, and i don't really see the big deal with this Torche album. it sounds like a heavier Seaweed. meh.

Meshuggah - Obzen (growing on me)

Brutal album. Not my favorite of theirs, but still good.

Hayes Carll - Trouble In Mind
The Parlor Mob - And You Were A Crow
Joe Bonamassa - Sloe Gin

Is there a better guitar player on the planet right now than Joe Bonamassa?

The guy is a monster.

I'm a REALLY big Nels Cline fan.  Have been for a while.  Ridiculous.  But (of course) Bonamassa's incredible.

Cave In-Antenna

Realized this record encapsulates most of the high points in rock style of the new millenium.

Also, Rich Costey is just as consistent as CLA, but I like Rich's vibe and feel much more.

Deerhunter: Microcastle
Really, really good

Eno: Taking Tiger Mountain By Strategy

PJ Harvey: White Chalk
Her best, IMO. Big departure from previous stuff, and she totally pulls it off.

Eno: Taking Tiger Mountain By Strategy

One of my favorites, though not in regular rotation.

On a whim I picked up "Forth" from The Verve.  I'm liking it.

A friend turned me onto Los Toallitas - diggin' that too.
