All in all this is the bottom line for me:

I think the best method is that you don't think too much about any of this stuff, just do it by ear and tactile memory on your chosen EQ... not by numbers, keys, pitch, graphs, analyzers, etc.

Just hear the song, reach for an EQ knob or two, adjust the compressor and print!

If you guys wish,I have a full blown Mastering chart with a table of Pendulum OCL2 and Crane Ibis EQ stuff to document the sessions, just gotten out of the oven.
