There were 39 of us lived in a shoebox in the middle of the road.  We used to have to get up at half past 2 every morning, half an hour before we went to bed, eat a handful of freezing cold poison, walk 48 miles to the studio, and pay the studio owner sixpence per day for the privilege of working there, and when we got home at night, our dad would murder us in cold blood and dance about our graves singing Hallelujah.

Now, you try and tell the young people of today that, and they won't believe you.

(I know, I know...   I had to.  Sorry.)

yeah...except the owners frowned upon it, and i had to act like i hadnt stayed the night there, not to mention the mic closet was literally bigger than the "bedroom"...also the top of the mattress was 3 feet away from the "ceiling" very strange...and not necessarily comfortable...not to mention all the "mileage" said mattress had/has seen being in a studio...ewwww!!!

I've worked days and days and days...


BUT

That includes travelling (often me driving).

It does not involves hours in front of a desk. It involves lots of different things, from driving, to unloading, to fixing PA's to mixing, very physically demanding things.

But at least each one of them is a break from the other, no matter how hard.

None of them has involved so much constant focus, which is why I'm a learner at what you guys do.

About 100 straight (@ EFX  - you were probably there at some point in that stretch Randy). I was 31 maybe. Couldn't fall asleep afterward and went out that night and fell asleep on a sidewalk.
