Oh c'mon it was his lawnmower and his sawed-off shotgun.  He was minding his own business in his own backyard  Rolling Eyes

Glad he's not my neighbor!

The warranty comment IS priceless though... thanks for the belly laugh Dan!

The "my yard, my mower, my shotgun" argument depends.

If he's way out in the country, sure.

A half acre zoned suburb? Um...no

He's 56 years old, he still lives with his mother...

He's got other issues, which apparently extend beyond personal grooming.

So it seems OK to shoot a trespassing human being with your own rifle on your own lawn, but you can not shoot your own machine with your own rifle on your own lawn.

Mindboggling.

Maybe he felt threatened by the lawnmower...

If it wasn't his lawnmower, it would be OK because it was trespassing on his property.

It would apparently also be OK if the lawnmower turns out to be an Asian exchange student.

All this is way beyond my comprehension.

In Texas, it's now apparently legal to shoot your NEIGHBOUR'S trespassers...

Hmmmm... -I wonder if it's okay to shoot your own lawnmower if it's trespassing in your neighbour's yard...

Personally I do not think It's OK.

According to certain areas in the US of America... it seems like it's OK unless it's a dead piece of machinery that you own ourself.

What do I know.

For a European guy like me, this gets totally confusing. Let alone incomprehensible.

Elvis used to shoot tee-vees, and he got a complimentary FBI badge from Nixon.

Hey Elvis didn't need a gun, he was a blackbelt... which he needed to hold up his ghi!

I thought this thread was about a 500 series lunchbox.

Shooting one's dead machinery may not be illegal in some places, but's it's certifiably stupid anywhere.  I don't like guns but I've recorded bullet impacts, it's not smart to be anywhere near where bullets are hitting things & bouncing off, and sending off bits of  shrapnel.  I've been 70 yards away & had stuff come back & fly over our heads.
