hi patrik;
what do you think about daw control surfaces? i think they are faux!
i would like to see more science applied to mastering. to me, it means
making one adjustment at a time, then making an assessment,
then another adjustment. the adjustment could alter two
or more paramters, but the important thing is that one
is always making a controlled comparison between
two known states. once one puts two hands on
two controls and moves them, it seems to
be way more difficult to keep track of
the former state. imo, that is
too important to lose.
a lot of people think detented knobs are needed only for recall.
i think that they also work with a scientific approach much
better than continous controls. so if one has detented
controls, and one is strictly using a-b comparisons
on every move they do, then i think one could do
the same work in about the same time
with one hand as with two.
