« on: June 19, 2008, 02:08:44 PM »

Hey, mods, I hope this is OK.

LA guys, my Advanced Logic 8 class at UCLA Extension starts on 6/26, 10 weeks, from 7-10 PM.

Hey I tried Logic before and it seemed difficult to set up.  Is the Apple-fied version a bit easier to set up?

Logic Pro 8 is indeed considerably more newbie friendly.

And BTW, there is a really good user group in Seattle.

Good to know since AAPL is taking over the world.

In the mean time I use DP and am fine with it, just want to be proficient for other clients.

DP is a fine app also.

The problem is, when you get proficient in a certain app and you try another, the app you know has trained you to think the way it thinks, so when the other app does things differently, your gut instinct will be to think, "Well, that's wrong."

And some times app #1's method IS better, but more frequently, it is just different,

The challenge is to learn how the app does things best and adapt your workflow to it rather than trying to get the app to adapt to your workflow.

After all, you are smarter and more flexible than the software, in theory:)
