musicians advocate???
« on: May 30, 2008, 02:10:00 PM »

These guys sell stuff on Ebay, supposedly new and very inexpensive. For example, a Lexicon PCM 91 for $1210 and they have 5 to sell at this price (the "usual" new price is about $1999).

Does anyone know anything about these guys. where do they get the "product" from? Are these things legit or are they conterfit? How do they get to offer these pieces as such prices??

thanks.

Ah...now it makes perfect sense to me. But the lack of response to your post I guess nobody knows.. they're on vacation maybe.

Just got a catalog in the mail today.

Go to their website. Just another gear outlet. Nothing to fear....

(edit)-Sorry, the catalog was from Musicians Friend, but none the less, I've purchased from MA in the past.... They're OK.

It's been a year or two, but I've purchased a number of items from Brad/Musician's Advocate.  I was very satisfied.  Great price, quick shipping, item received as described.  He beat everyone else's price.

Years back he was spamming some forum; I made a reasonable comment about it, and he was a total jerk in his reply to me.
I think Brad's a jerk (to put it way too nicely), and will never give him my business.

I've read a few posts on either gearslutz or tapeop where people had bad experiences with them. Maybe search around over there to find out.

And that ain't the only Brad fiasco we vicariously witnessed back then.

I bought a pair of KM184s from him a few years back, and everything went smoothly, but I have heard of some "issues" that others have had with them. I would buy from them again.
