Happy Memorial Day!
« on: May 26, 2008, 07:49:33 AM »

For the US readers, I want to wish you a Happy Memorial Day, and for those that have served in the military or have lost a loved one in service to our country, thank you. I hope everyone, both here and abroad, will take a few moments today to reflect upon those who have served our respective countries with duty, honor, and courage.

This thread is about appreciation for those who have served, willing to die for us - let's not turn it into a political argument.

Thank you - good post.

I think there should also be a Memorial idea for those soldiers damaged by the wars. Even today, we are ABOUT to see thousands of mentally affected men and boys come home from Iraq - and it will be like 1972 all over again; lots of people coming to grips with "domestic life", which is very hard...

Our opinions of our leaders' policies cannot be allowed to affect the honor we give those who serve. Happy Memorial Day and thank you to all our veterans.

May God bless all who have served and are currently serving.

Especially those forced to serve.

Amen.  It is the soldiers who always serve faithfully.  True patriotism and a willingness to sacrifice themselves to save others are their hallmarks.  I'm glad the vets of WWII finally have a memorial.  I'm not sure if there is a Korean memorial but there ought to be as they suffered no less.

God bless all soldiers everywhere.
