Mini Mastering set, MA1 ...Who's heard'em ?
« on: May 29, 2004, 02:41:53 AM »

Dynaudio MA1
need a bigger sound field for critical work,
After being unimpressed with the lack of feel from the ADAMs I purchased,
I will no longer go the S4A route.
any comments on These Dynaudio MA1 , Pro's / cons. TX.

I found some here ;

Hy

they are not that great sounding, nor are they very acurate, nor are they going really deep (and they start to compress if you listen loud).

If you are looking for a great dynaudio box go for a C4 System (but choose other amps then what they usually recommend (no Chord-Amps)).

In the same quality but cheaper (because passive) is a speaker from Harry Pawel. J

I thought they actually sounded pretty good but still needed a sub. I agree with the other poster that the C4 is a better choice. ATC and Quested would be other avenues I'd investigate. PMC is worth listening to, but while some people love the low extension of the transmission line approach, some hate the way it affects the bass, even though there's plenty of it. I've heard PMCs sound good (Hank's room at Mastermix, Nashville) but I'd put them behind ATC and Quested. But you never know how you'll feel unless you listen. B&W 802s also seem popular these days. They sounded good when I heard them.

Thank you for the responses.
I will look into those other ones listed.
Funny I was just looking at the Studio 100's, by PCM I think .
Make I should set a post about those ?
