Stanley Clarke Modern Man available from iTunes
« on: May 19, 2008, 08:21:55 PM »

For you old school Funk/Fusion fans, Stanley Clarke Modern Man is available from the iTunes store. I'm not sure when it became available, but it must have been fairly recently. It was available only for a short time on CD before going out of print. afaik, it is still out of print on CD. I wound up buying a (legitimate) copy of the CD off eBay for $50 USD.

Features young Jeff Porcaro, Ray Gomez, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and of course Stanley Clarke funkin' it up but good.  Jeff Beck and Stanley Clarke just groove on Rock 'n' Roll Jelly.

Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller and Victor Wooten – each a powerful force of nature in his own right – have done more in recent decades to redefine the electric bass and push the limits of its potential than any other musician alive today. When these three titans – collectively known as S.M.V. – converge on the low frequencies, the results are no less than earth shaking. Thunder, their debut collaboration set for release on August 12, 2008, is a high-energy phenomenon whose impact is guaranteed to resonate throughout every corner of the jazz world.
