Only today we were shown the "mastering notes" from an international audio school chain: merely a few print outs from Mix Online and how to place an EQ and L"x" pre fader on a Steinberg DAW master buss.
To anyone wanting "in" on this industry they're very welcome to arrange a visit, but for gaining real experience & know-how I point them towards throwing themselves into it where they can... volunteering for indie radio or tv, amateur theatre groups, live sound, simply analyzing by ear their favourite (and even their not so favourite) music.. Oh, and anything involving customer service.
