I am really trying to improve skills but if everyone shuts a door (hides the game) at me, might get complex...

But fortunately there is a turnaround: forums like this where we find  nice people as you guys, sharing your precious wisdom.

Only today we were shown the "mastering notes" from an international audio school chain: merely a few print outs from Mix Online and how to place an EQ and L"x" pre fader on a Steinberg DAW master buss.

To anyone wanting "in" on this industry they're very welcome to arrange a visit, but for gaining real experience & know-how I point them towards throwing themselves into it where they can... volunteering for indie radio or tv, amateur theatre groups, live sound, simply analyzing by ear their favourite (and even their not so favourite) music.. Oh, and anything involving customer service.

I teach the mastering course at Berklee College.  It really all about technical bits, good hygiene, knowledge of tools and typical practice and pointing kids in the right direction.  You need to know what questions to ask and how to listen and then it's all about practice...
