Exporting all CD info to text file in Sequoia 10?
« on: October 15, 2008, 03:56:27 AM »

I'm wondering what people do to export CD text and ISRC info from Sequoia 10?

Ideally, when I'm about to make a master, I'd like to export all relevent info to a text file and email that to the client, asking for a final confirmation email in return. So, if at a later time there's any complaint about wrong CD text or ISRC, i can point to that email.

The closest thing i can find is in the "Marker / CD index manager: "Show TOC" > "External Editor"

The problem is that if you have long track names, they are cut off and have "......" at the end. This is annoying. Also, the formating is a bit strange.

Surely there must be a way to export a comlete text file of all relevent info, so you can send that to the client or factory?

Maybe it's there and i don't see it?

Is there any way to specify which text editor is used?

Thanks! ................. D

Ive wondered the same thing. It gets tiring to space the columns manualy just so you can read it.

What I like about SAWStudio/CSG is that it allows you to just hit Ctrl-C on the CSG gui and you get a list of all the various PQ and subcode parameters so that you can choose exactly which ones you want to have copied to the clipboard as tab limited text so that it can be pasted into any text editor of your choosing.  Makes customizing and printing PQ sheets really easy.  I figured that Sequoia had something like this already built in - are you saying that it doesn't paste the info with tabs already correctly formatted?

There you go!

Surely this is one of the most basic functions of a top-end mastering program........to export a complete PQ sheet containing all information at the press of one button, all nicely formatted and ready to go.

I believe it depends on which editor is associated with .rtf files according to the settings defined in your Windows Explorer.

My Computer --> Tools --> Folder Options --> File Types

Go to RTF and associate the editor of your choice to it.  You can even choose a different editor for opening vs. editing...you get the idea.

Thanks...........i just checked it but unfortunately when you have long track names they already get butchered in the TOC before it's exported to an RTF.

They gotta fix this!............this is basic stuff

The names survive in Print Studio. I export the back cover and print that on my cover. It's not as it should be but at least the complete names are somewhere.
