Here comes Duffy
« on: April 19, 2008, 04:01:04 AM »

Don't know if you guys in the US have heard much 'Duffy' yet - but as part of the new Amy Winehouse retro school, here comes Duffy - taking over Europe by storm:

I would call this an ultra-retro 60's sound..

Just saw her singing on German TV last night & she got presented with a gold disc for 100k sales in the last 2 weeks..

She seems more together than Amy, so the chances are good she's going to tour extensively & do what needs to be done to work her album.

Funny times..this UK retro nostalgia thing.

Maybe there is potential for those PSW'ers with vintage experience and credentials to tap into this scene... ?

Looks like a pop goldmine to me..

Deja Vu .... Very Happy

The guitar on the album is by Bernard Butler.

I particularly like the title track, Rockferry.

Music can make me get right up out of my chair and start dancing or it can get me so pumped up I have to walk around the block.
It can also knock me back and make me sit there and cry like a little baby. This shit is as powerful as any drug!!!
