Here are a couple of track from the record I just finished...

I wrote, performed, and engineered most of this record.  I got some help on a couple of tracks with drums... but mostly it's a one-man-overdubbin-band.

You can hear the whole thing in flash streaming audio here:

Hundred Years War

you've all heard it already.

here's a pic  of what a live show looks like.  we try to keep everything simple and let the music do the talking..........or shouting.......or teeth kicking.

Mixed.  Probably one of my favorite projects.

J,

Great production and songs.
You sure do have a "signature" Cymbal & Snare sound.
Similar Cymbals & Snare to the Hundred Year War mix.
Snare sits in the same spot and the Cymbals have the same "blooming" effect. I'm always amazed by it.
What's your secret with those cymbals?

Sounds great Matt!  My favorites are Fools Lullaby and Life.  I'm a sucker for songs with string samples from the days of old.

there is one note on the whole EP that was melodyned and that's it.  neither the tracking engineer nor myself felt Matthew's voice needed any tuning.  even after matthew asked me to do it, i declined.  in the recalls he had me tweak one note that was bothering him.

other then that, no vocals are tuned.

i did tune all the live strings however.

Well tehn I am completely impressed. If he's that talented I'll have to go see for myself. It really did sound likeit to me. I'm jaded. I guess I don't expect for someone to actually have almost perfect pitch without help. Refreshing to know there's talent here in town, cuz I don't see too much of it.

I am so happy to be wrong on this. See brad... I can be wrong.  Laughing

Scott -

"Fool's Lullaby" is actually starting to get a little burn on Hot 97 here in the city. Pretty cool.

Great sounds on the Purr Bats stuff.  The guitar track on "Salt Lake City" reminds me of something Rza would've used in the Kill Bill soundtrack.

i'm not sure i'd say he has perfect pitch.  there are plenty of notes that are slightly off.  to me, i call that charm.  his voice is really solid, and the few "pitchy" parts here and there just add character to the recording.

Just when I didn't think it possible, MySpace has actually gotten worse sounding, it seems to have added a shit ton of noise to the tracks.  Download em and they work fine!
