I always find it odd that people use the image I call "Iowa" Jesus.  A total European white guy.

In 530 AD, they painted him like this.
What do you suppose could have happened since then?

Larry, if I were ever to return to the flock, I would not at all be comfortable worshiping a guy that looks like a middle-easterner.

Even though 2000 years ago a Persian Jew may very well have looked like that, I am happier with the images we have now.

It is a pretty long drive from that painting to what I feel is the winner of the Golden Calf award, this one:

brittany is the holy virgin!!! (or is it charlotte from "sex in the city"?)

my father told me about the "black" jesus he saw in a church in germany somewhere

dan is right

the nazarenes (or the judeans and the mohammedans for that matter) don't get their own commandments

i think it's the second commandment that says something about creating idols???

by idolising a "messiah" they go against their own belief system (as primitive and pagan as it may be in the first place)

chill, jimi

god is already in you

just believe in your SELF

and if you go the next step and UNDERSTAND, you won't even have to BELIEVE...

I do see  their point. Yes, I agree. This is just wrong.

This is the only idol I ever liked.
But I'm a huge Keith Forsey fan.

Joseph Campbell said "I don't need belief, I have experience".
