I think bands should think twice before using other bands' song titles as band names.

That said, the stuff we heard at the Brick the other night was somewhat interesting.  I'm a sucker for girl singers though.

Well, you know what I think of them, and my appreciation hasn't changed six months later... I still dig it out of the pile once or twice a month to give it a listen.

A bunch of people that I know like this group.  I don't think I understand them.  What is the big deal about this group?

I bought the record and don't remember any special about it.

I think that they're an aquired taste, sort of like Cat Power or Sleater Kinney.

It's an old "saying". Popular with the Navy, particularly sailors in port.
It's also a somewhat popular tattoo displayed on a decent amount of flash throughout the world...

it's also the name of a smiths song, and the band admits to naming themselves after it. the smiths probably pulled it from the saying though... that said, i think they're pretty great. i like good health better than the new one though. this piggybacks on the bad producer thread, but ek's out of hand.  that snare sound blows ass.

however, regardless of production, the songs and band work. i like 'em. they're good live.

anyone have thoughts on mclusky?

this band isnt exactly my kind of music, but Death Cab For Cutie is, and they also got their name from a band,  Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, it really dont matter where the name came from if it works for the band and as long as the band is good. as long as people out there enjoy the music, pretty girls make graves seem to have a sound that is unique, which is nice to hear.

Not as good as The Dismemberment Plan. Too bad they aren't together anymore.  Sad
