Apogee DA 16 TDIF problem
« on: May 19, 2004, 01:07:27 PM »

I have a DA-16 (original, not "X") with the TDIF option installed. The problem is that the two TDIF connectors on the back seem to be too close together to allow two of Tascam's own TDIF cables to be connected at the same time. There isn't enough vertical space between the connectors on the DA-16. Anyone run into this? What is the work around? (Yes, I have an email
into Apogee support, so far no reply.) Thanks for the help.

Apogee support reports that the DA16 was desinged to fit Tascam's original PW88 cables. I have the Tascam "Cable Up" line which, evidently, has a larger connector. I can not anyone stocking the original Tascam cables (they all carry the Cable Up line) or another brand with the original sized connectors which work with the DA16. Any leads on a supplier?

You might want to check out "REDCO" in connecticut... they can usually get pretty much anything you require when it comes to cables.

Best of luck.
