In many, many places, WM is the only game in town.

Perhaps it's because they drove the competition into bankruptcy. Which is definitely part of their business model. They can sell products for less than what the local competition buys them for!

the corporate business model IN GENERAL.

When discussing Wal-Mart and Target what would be more relevant than the topic of St. Peter?    Rolling Eyes

Smoke smoke smoke that cigarette puff puff puff and if you smoke yourself to death
Tell St Peter at the Golden Gate that you hate to make him wait
But you just gotta have another cigarette

I'M HERE TO PLEASE YA.

With target planning another 600 stores by 2010, I'm wondering if they realize now many more people are shopping online and how the curve of people getting comfortable with doing so is somewhat akin to the stragglers who held out using ATMs and getting phone machines over tha last 20 years.  No kidding.  When I moved to CA in 1975 I had Detroit musician homeboy friends taunting me for having a phone machine.  I was ambiciously suspect...can you believe that?  Now phone machine are slmost not cool with phone mail etc.

I'm thinking that investment in FED EX or UPS would be a good investment with the growth they will no doubt be doing thanks to higher gas prices and internet shoppers....your thoughts?

ahhh, the little walmart thread that wouldn't die.

the simple fact that this thread has so much traffic indicates to me that WM is way to well known for it's own good, and that will be it's demise.  there will be a liberal uprising once obama gets elected president.

I used to do stupid shit like that, except instead of witless rap I did a pretty good Dean Martin impression.

when i was just of high school

me and my buddies would go to the neigborhood novelty store

do they still have those?

and we'd buy a little bottle of purfume with a skunk on hit

called la pew

picture us squeezed into my 1960 simca ...snow on the ground

in the parking lot of a burger king parked facing the windows of the BK  watching as we emptied the place by pouring it in the heater radiators of the building

big fun

then we'd ride over to white castle and get 6 burgers for a buck.
