this problem's strange - sounds acoustic...  It's just on one side of the stereo field.  When I feed guitrars to it, everything is fine until the guitar hits a certain chord.  At that point, the signal either starts rapidly cutting out or cancelling.  Either way, it leaves a vibrato effect just on one chord (I think it's a G).

Cooper time Cubes ARE acoustic

Essentially you have a couple pieces of tubing each with an ear plug transducer jammed in to one end and a microphone jammed into the other.  That's what's in the cube.  The rack unit has four amplifier cards.  Two drive the two hoses and two amplify the microphones back to line level at the output.

You have to have the cube someplace quiet and reasonably isolated or you can have acoustical feedback problems.

You will have some comb filter standing wave resonance in the hoses so they will sound funny to start with.

If the cube was opened up and not put back together right the acoustical isolation between the hoses and the outside world and each other can be compromised (more).

You can check to see if the amplifier cards are okay by swapping lefts for rights.

Beyond that I supposed some combination of acoustical, gain structural and general messing about inside the cube can contribute to what you are hearing.

One thing though...  these things are anything but flat and free of color.

thnx John for the pointers.  I've had the coop for about a year and really dig it's space and color.  Great mixing tool for what I do.  The problem just cropped up recently probably due to me transporting it to various mix houses.  I'll investigate with great care.... thanks again
