Certainly Alsihad won't. But this forum software will. If you look on the far right of the section that contains my avatar on my posts, there is an option to "ignore all messages by this user." It's a great function of the new software, and I highly recommend that you use it.

thanks for the suggestion.  it didn't work.  i suspect that, as a moderator, you're not ignorable.

Sorry to hear that. Of course that makes sense. You can't kill Mixerman digitally.

May I suggest you try the analog way of ignoring me?

Who is this Mixerman? I remember some dude on Rec Audio Pro from years ago who used to babble about how 1s and 0s weren't musical but haven't seen him since leaving usenet.

Mixerman is actually a young fraulien form bavaria with a penchant for straight to vinyl polka recording.

Greta Van Straplestien.

greta, sorry for the outing, and I hope that the new version of PSW will let it slide without a banning.

Ahem. If you're going to split it off, at least move it to the saloon. Personally, I didn't think that this particular exchange merited a split off. I think that the discussion was all in good humor, and was pretty much finished. Please move it, as I would rather not be the subject of discussion on my own thread on gm's forum.

I've always wondered how this ignore thing worked in terms of understanding the continuity and context of posts.

It'd be weird if you had a certain Night at the Roxbury guy on ignore and all you see is post after post of ad hominem directed into the ether. Conversely, how embarassing if Mr Roxbury is laying the smack down on your ignoring ass, to your continued oblivion. Plus what about the punters? Isn't the whole thing just an unworkable quagmire of miscommunication?

Years ago on Rec.audio.Pro it dropped my average post downloads from 500 to about 15 and made the place seem like a civil, knowledge laden audio newsgroup. This thread has given me at least one person to ignore.
