Wow... talk about intense.  Talk about faith.  Talk about redundant.

That's a fascinating video.  And in some ways (although in many better ways) I think that's how St. Paul was.  I picture him as an all or nothing guy like Cruise.  The difference tho' is St. Paul had the Gospel and Tom Cruise has a cult.  But that intensity and drive is what it takes to really want to spread your belief.

And Tom has a scary laugh.  I worry about what he thinks is funny -- and why.

The best quote in the comments:

"In all this crazy Tom Cruise hating business of the last couple of years, I have prevented myself from thinking he's totally batshit. This video. He's fucking batshit. But I bet some Opus Dei video by Clarence Thomas would be just as frightening."

They say the heart of Rock & Roll is still beating, which is amazing if you consider all the blow it's done over the years.

"The Internet enables pompous blowhards to interact with other pompous blowhards in a big circle jerk of pomposity." - Bill Maher

"The negative aspects of this business, not only will continue to prevail, but will continue to accelerate in madness. Conditions aren't going to get better, because the economics of rock and roll are getting closer and closer to the economics of Big Business America." - Bill Graham

That cult is probably bigger than Paul's when he started it, and during his lifetime.

Laugh now but L.Ron and Xemu may get you yet.

I'm not laughing because the late L.Ron Hubbard had one of the finest microphone collections on the planet.  Now that he's gone and it is part of the Church of Scientology, none of it will ever be mine.... poop.

The difference is not that clear to me.

At first I thought maybe he has Narcissistic Personality Disorder, but there's enough empathy in there to make me think that perhaps he's just incredibly deluded. And deeply indoctrinated.

I think you may be a tiny bit confused, perhaps...

It's actually the rhythm that's gonna get you.

I still think litigating against critics is kid's play next to the Church's history. I live in the middle of Scientology Central and have known a few, and no one has ever said to me "Convert or Die." AND - no one has even tried to proselytize to me, which can't be said for at least half-a-dozen stripes of so-called "christianity". All of whom say they have the only answer, btw, and all of whom disagree with each other. Sometimes violently.

Laugh at Cruise all you want. The Pope and Pat Robertson are just as fervent and just as crazy. Huckabee too.

Here in Paris we have billboards with Nicole Kidman claiming to have rejuvenated her brain to the age of 24 years.
Let's let them both, and their cronies, keep rejuvenating until they forget how to speak about their crap religion started by the mediocre science fiction writer that probably only disappeared for tax reasons.

If nobody has proselytized to you, then you just haven't hung out with enough Sci-Tis.  The best is the Beverly Hills Play House, though.  That place has become such a Sci-Ti recruiting center (as well as the director's center for recruiting young actresses to his bed room) that Jeff Tambor left both the BHPH and the church.  When my wife was studying there, she had people try to physically drag her to Sci-Ti shit.
