There was a guy here in STL who bought a church with a great chamber music concert hall.  But as the property was zoned "church" he couldn't buy it unless it was operated that way.  So he started his own religion and named himself a bishop.  He bought the concert hall and started holding concerts -- blues, jazz, folk, etc.  The only tenet his religion held is that "music is a good thing".  The IRS soon shut him down.

I've been a Universal Life Church minister since my college days.  Kirby Hensley came to the university and ordained a couple of hundred people.  Some folks used their ministries to attempt to avoid income taxes, dodge the draft and skirt local ordinances but the courts soon put a stop to that.

IIRC, The Massenburg console has been discussed at one of GM's previous 'web groups. It uses 5534 ICs, as well as some GM discrete stages, but - from what I remember - GM himself wasn't too glowing about it.

Ha.

I can now write your song, produce and engineer your album, and marry you, all at once.

THAT is a Stephens suggestion.

John was ALL over those arrays and gave Dave Amels and I about 45 minutes of reasons why it works so well.

Those arrays look a lot like the arrays used in wavefield synthesis installations.

What's a Stephens suggestion? The speakers? Arnie Nudell gets no credit for being their designer?

It was John's SUGGESTION that they use them. John did a lot of experimenting with this type of technology.

The church has a Stephens 2in. 16 that they still use....it's clear, OT VII, a Class XII auditor and sounds great.   Very Happy
