newbie seeking help with Sam/RME and VSTs
« on: February 20, 2008, 12:06:21 PM »

Hello.

Oldtime Sam 6426 user but recently wanted to get into using midi and VSTs so acquired the e version of Sam 9 and am having an awful time trying to get any of my vsts to work properly with Sam.

Running Win XP Pro on a 3.4 Pentium 4 with 2 gigs ram and an installed RME DIGI96/8 PAD.  It has served me well in the past and I have checked the tutorial vids on the Magix Sites, the various youtube clips, pdf manuals and I seem to have everything configured properly as far as I can tell. All my hardware is recognized , btw using a UMX25 midi controller, but again for the life of me it's either no sound at all, no controller function, or occasionally a vst will work but certainly not the way I recorded it. Is there some known issue with these older RME cards or their ASIO drivers?

Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated. I'd hate to think I need to change out soundcards just to get midi working.

Thanks,
NEch
