Before you part with your hard earned cash, try to play through one before you buy it. There is nothing worse than taking someone else's word for something through mail order only to find that it just doesn't fit your style or move your soul. Be patient and your true love will find you.

Amen! That always reminds me of people that buy old cars off of EBay or something....you haven't even driven it!

Is there anywhere I can get an Epi Valve Jr already modded?
No amp techs in the Bahamas that I know of.

Thanks,

Clifford.

Clifford...
Some of the guitar/amp based forums may have some classifieds for these things, but I would be cautious especially with Ebay.
Another way you could go about this is contact Paul Patronette at Mercury Magnetics www.mercurymagnetics.com
Tell him that I sent you and he may have a solution for this.
One way this could work, is if you bought one from Musicians Friend and had it shipped to me, along with the upgrade kit from MM.
I could do the mod and ship it to you. You would have a warranty and the work will be done by a skilled and noted tech with numerous referrals and history with many artists. This would give you some peace of mind that the bone head factor would be ruled out.
Let me know if this would work for you. BTW, my family had a home in Nassau for many years and reluctantly sold it a few years back and seeing how you are so isolated as it relates to these types of services, I'll do the mod for you free of charge and all you have to do is pay for the shipping.

Because it's all Digital, the only thing you have to do is pour a bunch of zero's and one's into a blender and push "mix". Then, you pray."

Hi Billy,

I heard back from Moss this morning and he recommends Skip Simmons, who was one of the ones I'd been interested in already.  He lives on a farm in Dixon and seems to be one of these laid-back, salt-of-the-earth types who I like so much (and would like to be but often lack the self-assurance).  Moss describes him as "one of the best anywhere" and that's good enough for me.  I'll let you know how it goes.  Thanks again for the referral.
