Denis you're giving them too much credit -- 3.5 Reich at best.  They're not very good as this Reich stuff yet. Although they've got the lies, corruption, bullying, fascism, torture thing going, there are too many Jews, Gypsies, Homosexuals and Christian ministers left alive.  But you have to give them points for style...

126,876.

The goal is 250k signed to the petition by the end of the year (you know, *this* year).

The founders of this country risked their families, property, freedom and lives.  All you have to do is click a mouse a few times.

Support Congressman Wexler and his effort to defend The Constitution.  Remember, even if they're not coming after you now, they'll be coming for you and your children later.  Act now while there are others to act with you.

Actually act now, because soon , it will be illegal too do so!
And by then, it will be much harder then a few clicks, to turn things around.

Now if these guys think Bush&Co might have done something wrong......

Lawyers Stepping Up

We are lawyers in the United States of America. As such, we have all taken an oath obligating us to defend the Constitution and the rule of law…. We believe the Bush administration has committed numerous offenses against the Constitution and may have violated federal laws…. Moreover, the administration has blatantly defied congressional subpoenas, obstructing constitutional oversight …. Thus, we call on House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers and Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy to launch hearings into the possibility that crimes have been committed by this administration in violation of the Constitution…. We call for the investigations to go where they must, including into the offices of the President and the Vice President. -- American Lawyers Defending the Constitution

Over one thousand lawyers – including former Governor Mario Cuomo and former Reagan administration official Bruce Fein – have signed onto the above statement demanding wide-ranging investigative hearings into unconstitutional and potentially criminal activity by the Bush administration.

Then just maybe they did?

PS now don't go jumping against lawyers, the point is that if some one knows the law, it should be them

For months there's been a law professor from Georgetown University on Keith Olbermann's "Countdown" program.  He says repeatedly BushCo has broken the law.

You wonder if anyone's ever going to have the balls to do something....

I wonder what Nancy Pelosi would say to that?

That she obviously doesn't have the balls to do something.

Not because she's a woman, but because one of the first things she did when she became speaker was to promise the Republicans there'd be no impeachment.

To me this was a proof that the 2 party thing doesn't work.

Its because they don't want to generate a sympathy backlash for Bushco, whose fortunes plummet daily. "The American People™" don't like impeachment.

Bush on the stand would generate a Keane-Kid-like "Aww, shucks, Ah didn' know" schtick, and the Dems would be painted in the press as evil. It would be a media war that the Neos would win.

Maybe.

I think the American People™ are more progressive than Congress.  I can't believe anyone (except right wing media) is going to have any sympathy for Cheney.  You're talking about guys who are in the 24% of popularity.  Bush might fare better but you know no matter what sympathy they generate this is something you do not because it's popular or not.  It's something you do because they violated The Constitution and you can't let this precedent stand.  It only encourages a future president to be even more unlawful.

Mgod, you're probably right, but doesn't this accentuate the false reality that society lives in ? It also examplifies the fact that major medias are accomplices to the neos.

By precedent, the Republicans changed that in Clinton 2, and for the foreseeable future. One might almost believe that it was deliberate, in order to make impeachment unpalatable, knowing what they intended to do, from the beginning of disenfranchisement of black people in Florida in 1996 by BushCo and its employee Katherine Harris, on up through O'Connor's malfeasance prior to her happy and relaxed retirement.

Remember that BushCo founder Prescott was in on the proposed coup against FDR in 1933. This is old stuff.

Yes it does. The major media are accomplices to money - so are the neos. Profit for the few and democracy are apparently incompatible.

PS - A reminder: BushCo has been in partnership with the Bin Ladens for over 30 years, and we do not take issue with Saudis.
