We're a PT based facility, and I use it every day.  But after a year of trying to make it work, I went back to Sonic for mastering, as much for the sound as the editing features so sorely missing in PT (e.g. beat-matched edits in PT are much more difficult and time consuming, not even close).  In Sonic (and to be fair many native DAWs and Sadie and Pyramix I imagine!), I have "free" gain changes... no matter how many level adjustments one makes in the chain, the file nulls back to source.  Similarly, reciprocal EQ changes null closer to source than any TDM plug can touch (tens of decibels better).

While PT can run all or most of my plugs, routes more capably than sonic or most mastering daws, and never runs out of gas (dsp), in the end the same settings sound different (and to my ear "worse") than sonic or even Logic.  This isn't a slam on PT: It's optimized and designed for multitrack work, so different compromises are made.  As much as I dislike it for mastering, my multitrack sessions have been a joy due to it's features and power.  I "came up" with Logic and later DP, and keep current on both, but over time I've found I prefer PTHD to both when under the gun.  Different tools for different jobs I guess...

Here is the site for prices they are in Swiss Francs but they provide a very nice currency converter.

On the website it says the basic native package is about $900 but it doesn't give a price for the media bundle which gives 8 out instead of 4 and DDP.

I got curious so I called the NY distributor. Apparently they are overhauling the way they package and price things. He said you can get a native 4 out system with DDP for about $1700. That's what I was hoping for. A lot of money has been flying the wrong way lately but I'm going to get a demo after the new year.

Beware of the many options you might need. The basic price is attractive, but when you add your options, it can easily become in the same range as other high-end competitors. The DDP option e.g. cost me more than the basic Native package.
It's probably not done to publish rates here, but I can give the list of options (as of aug.2006).

Pyramix Native
Native Media Bundle

options:
Surround Sound Mixing
High Sampling Frequency (64-192kHz)
DDP Mastering
POW-R Redithering
Advanced video support
Sonic Solutions Import
AAF Interchange
MPEX3 Time/Pitch Scaling
VB Aphro Reverb
EQ-X Parametric EQ
Solera Dynamics
Pure Dynamics
Arkamys Upmix (stereo to 5.1)

and 5 separate CEDAR options for Declick, Decrackle, Dehiss, Dethump and Retouch

The new version 6 is expected every day now, with apparently lots of new features. Perhaps best to ask for a V6 demo when it gets released.
All in all I'm very happy with my Pyramix native, mostly for (classical) music editing and mastering (DDP). I decided to keep my Sonic HD because it's still a great system and the Pyramix only imports Sonic 5.4 projects (no HD or later !).

Luckily I don't need many options. All I need is a 2 in 4 out recorder/editor with TPDF dither and the ability to cut parts. I don't mind expensive options I don't need! With Samplitude there is a ton of stuff I don't need but two things I do need are missing. I like a la carte because I only need an appetizer.

I've been using Pyramix for a while now and love it! I was seriously considering using it in my Post room as well.
Now... as far as options/features, this kinda' burns me a bit. I'm sure Native features/power is within reach of many, but if you get into DSD... look out! They are almost as bad as Digi.
I got a discount and still paid about $20k for a DSD mastering rig.

You can also get the Pyramix Native Mastering pack for $3062.00 which includes a lot of features. But if you get the basic... here are a couple of prices on top of the basic price.

Surround Sound Mixing $480
CD-R Mastering + CD import $896
High Sampling Frequency (64-192kHz) $480
DDP Mastering $1456
POW-R Redithering $480

and so on....
These prices were on a hand-out that I got at AES.

Haha, most of that is simply laughable. Either it's a serious application or it's not. "High Sampling Frequency"? "CD-R Mastering"? Wow...

Just get Sequoia and be done with it.

These features are included in the Mastering Pack... which I believe, is the same price as Sequoia.

Give me a call sometime if you want to borrow a Pyramix system to check it out. I am sure Merging would let you have a all included trial key so you can check out all the features.
I could send you the smallest DSP board (MB1) with a 8ch AES/IO
That card is not very powerful, but you could atleast get a feel for the system.
