Panels on the ceiling - best option
« on: November 12, 2007, 02:38:54 PM »

Okay - so I have short ceilings in my control room - a lil over 7'. Definitely not ideal - I know! My floor is pergo with some light carpeting - so I am gonna cover the ceiling with acoustic panels.

I'm curious - what would be a better use of my vertical height?

4" 703 mounted directly onto the ceiling

OR

2" 703 mounted 2"off of the ceiling

Any other suggestions are welcome!

are you sure you need it? you have carpeting on the floor... you might only need a few absorbers at key reflection points. use 2'x4'x2" absorbers 2" off the side walls and ceiling at first reflection points.

Thanks for the comments guys! Appreciated.

I will be hitting the first reflection points with 2", as well as building superchunks in the corners. I am just curious as to my best option for the ceiling.

2" spaced 2" will def be cheaper than 4" on the ceiling, so this is good news!

BTW - the floor is pergo, but not completely covered in carpet. I'd say 50% covered in carpet. The carpet is centered under my desk. So the floor is not completely dead...
