Anyone know the size of the brass CK-12 capsule? Is it 1"? (I am experimenting/testing capsules of a new capsule only manufactured in China)

Chance, the CK12 is a very complex design whose construction has been discussed on the internet before. Many people seem to sell C12-style capsules which may also not have a centre-termination, like the CK12, but are otherwise nothing like a CK12.

If you get a sample, measure it and then dismantle it and post pictures here.

The reason I want the size of the CK-12 is because I took the brass CK-12 out of an old "EB" and put it in an AKG "the tube". So the old EB is a good candidate for checking/hearing what quality this new company puts out. as for disecting and getting inside, I would rather someone with qualifications do that. I requested samples, they agreed and asked "what sizes?" So,,,, CK-12 = ?

Correct me if I'm wrong, I think it is generally referred to as a 34mm capsule.

Long time lurker; first post here.

Curious about this reference to a striped pattern on an old CK12 capsule. I am looking at this very clean C414EB with what I'm 99% sure is the original CK12. But the appearance of the capsule is a bit concerning. Any thoughts most appreciated.

Thanks.

I would not have any objections to a capsule with that surface pattern on its diaphragms.
The striping is common to a certain era of CK12 capsules. It is probably the result of the machine that rolled out the plastic substrate.
