I have indeed... both an OEM 96K and an upgraded original.  Still no joy.  We actually have one here, but it's mostly used for format conversions and quick/dirty SRC.

Back in the day it's SRC was one of the better real time options.  These days a roundtrip through good convertors is as good or better than those algos.

But no doubt, there are some fine ME's that used it or the 5000 unit back in the day... with fine results.

FWIW the M5000 sounds much better than any of the Finalizer versions I've heard. I don't currently have one but I'd use it if I did.

If I remember correctly the 5000 has something like 3 DSP chips inside while the Finalizer only has one - so that could definitely partly explain for the difference of the cost and sound.

Tried the Finalizer, and thought it was decent.I have the Focusrite Mixmaster in my studio which only has knobs no led displays for menus. I found though once I got the Manley Mini Massive EQ, I don't use the Mixmaster EQ anymore and since the Mini soniclly is so much better. However I still like the optic compressor on the Mixmaster.

I have the Master X (3+5) for the Mix Systems ( TDM 1).

I bought the Master X 3 in 1999, then it was updated a few years later to the 5 band version. Even when not using so many bands, the 5 Band version sounds better to my ears.

I use it weekly, but most of the time I can not use it with the linear/flat curve. It seems it hypes the 2k-8k content.
Frankly, I prefer its limiter section over the L2 plug-in.

I played a few hours with the MD3, but was not convinced it was a major imrpovment. I am waiting for the new PSP limiter but might also take a look at the Ozone .

Pendulum OCL2 does the heavy work, when employing single-band compression here.
