Damn!! Kucinich! Finally A Democrat To Support!
« on: October 30, 2007, 10:43:56 PM »

At the Dem Debate tonight in Philly Kucinich was on fire, despite MSNBC trying to avoid him.  This man spoke truth, wisdom and expressed himself well.

You gotta see the clip that sets him apart from the others.  Kucinich is a guy who could be GREAT!

Go here: http://www.crooksandliars.com/

and find the headline: Democrats Debate in Philly.  THIS IS WORTH YOUR TIME!

Yep, Kucinich is the only real progressive running.  I might even say the most Democratic of the Democrats.   And the one who makes the most sense.
And because of that the mainstream media won't give him the time of day.

Tomorrow all the clips about him will be about his admitting seeing a UFO... as though that's "crazy' but thinking Jesus talks to you isn't.

i WISH he were electable.

he's the only one I could COMFORTABLY vote for.

Chris Matthews (that dick) is RIGHT now jumping up and down with glee asking everyone what they think about UFOs.
Watch this non-issue become the ONLY thing the media can talk about for the next week.

Rather than Kucinich being the only one for true single-payer, not for profit, government run health care.

I like him too but, like you say, he's barely on the radar screen.

I really think, if properly funded, Bill Richardson would do very well. I would be very comfortable voting for him. I'm afraid the best I can hope for is that the eventual nominee chooses him as a running mate.

Things are really fucked up when ALL voters, of every political affiliation, have to hold their noses at the ballot box. No one seems to like any of the presumptive nominees. Why? Because they're all campaigning to the dumbest (and smallest) possible segment of the electorate... undecided voters.

So we repeatedly end up choosing the guy we think can be the most persuasive with the least informed and least intelligent among us.

i WISH he were electable.

But he's short. We hate short people, unless they're jockeys or comedians. And even then its only because we can look down on them. Kucinich, in his intelligence and honesty and height, reminds us of the worst in ourselves. Hell, he probably doesn't even drink beer.

DS

PS - neither do I, and I've seen a UFO too, but I'm almost 6 feet big.

Kucinich is saying the obvious truth, will that work?

Kucinich may not be considered "electable", but the same could be said for Rudy Gulliani.  Yet here we are.

The same Crooks and Liars page has Biden talking about how Rudy only ever say one thing: Noun+verb+9/11. He's right. Rudy is somehow running on terrorism while having by far the least real foreign policy experience (as in none) of any major candidate.

Kucinich will probably get my vote in the primary.

I hope that neither becomes an acceptable standard for sanity!

This isn't entirely true. One of the great things about the Edwards plan (which was adopted by Clinton and watered down by Obama) is that it gives people the comfort of maintaining their insurance while providing the option of a federal plan. It seems likely, and is explicitly noted and hoped for by Edwards, that people will see the savings in the more efficient federal plan and gravitate towards it leading to a de facto single payer.

The Edwards plan seems like the best POSSIBLE plan given political reality. As paul krugman said about the Edwards plan, "don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good."

http://tinyurl.com/2lxxzx

Edwards also is telling the truth. His speeches about inequality and the corrupting power of money are important.

I also like Richardson and Kucinich. I used to feel OK about Obama until he started with this "social security is gonna die!!" crap. It just feeds the republican agenda. Dodd is also winning points with his recent stands.

I don't think ANY of these candidates are the answer to all my prayers but they all look pretty good compared to the DLC triangulation machine.

Well, then there's rock and movie stars. What's Springsteen - 5' 4"? I could pop his head in my arm pit...you know, if'n he'd let me. Scrappy little guy.

I like Dennis, and more then just because he's a fellow Buckeye. I hope he's still on the Ohio ballot when it comes to our turn.

If I didn't like him so much for his policies I'd probably vote for him for that reason- being 5'4" my own self.
And Paul Simon for VP!

Interesting. He'd be a great choice. On the practical side, he has the deepest resume of any of the major candidates (governor, congressman, cabinet secretary, ambassador to the UN). On the political side, he'd wrap up the Hispanic vote.

there is no "comfort" for me in keeping multi-billion dollar insurance companies in between me and health care.

only the actual medical practitioners need to profit on my health.
