Cool feedback on the stand up bass mic question.
OK, next step, what would you guys compress it with?
Levelling acoustic bass can be a friggin' nightmare.

I didn't get in on the bass answer so in short ...
I use a Royer 122 active ribbon mic compressed 6/1 with a Distressor with low end side chain engaged
I also have a Neumann M49 right next to it UNCOMPRESSED .... to be dealt with later. I also if possible record whatever Di the player has on his rig if he has one ...
