For those that think a Yamaha piano is "always" bright and harsh, give a listen to this sample of Hiromi playing a Yamaha CF-IIIS Concert Grand. I recorded this at Blackbird Studios, Studio D but the piano was supplied by Yamaha - it's NOT the studio's piano. A single Royer SF-12 was the piano mic (stereo) through an UpState Audio Sonic Lens preamp.
I used to think "bright" anytime Yamaha was mentioned - no more!
Scroll down and click on LISTEN for the tune "Spiral."

Nice work, Michael. Thanks for the link. She sounds remarkably self-assured for being such a young artist. I like her writing, too.
I also think I hear a little "Yammy" in there, though. Maybe it's just because you told us what the piano was.
