SPLITTING wet and dry signal RECORDING how???
« on: September 20, 2007, 04:35:08 AM »

can anyone pls tell me waht kind of splitter to get if i want to:

record el gtr / bass thru a pod onto pro tools but want the direct signal AND the POD signal recorded (for mixing purposes).

what kind of splitter do i get?

AND

what's the best way to create good headphone mixes using an MBOX, for recording vocals (playback versus input) without it affecting the recording and latency etc, and so that both the engineer and the vocalist can wear /hear while vox are tracked?

THANK YOU

A DI Box with parallel outputs.

http://www.bosscorp.co.jp/products/en/DI-1/index.html

Or pretty much any other DI.

I don't have an MBox, but if you're using a pod then why does the guitarist need headphones? Can't he just play in the control room while you're listening to the stereo mix?

Oops, just re-read your post, vocalist, yeah.

Alright, doesn't the MBox have 2 stereo outputs? give him a mix out of one of those and use the other for your mix.

Just create a new bus or aux and set it's output to the second MBox output. Mix to taste.
