Good EQ and Comp plugs for AU's
« on: April 29, 2004, 01:50:34 PM »

Specifically in native format. I guess I have to start working on OSX eventually. Hate to use this as a comparrison but does anyone offer anything even close to the old Bum Factory plugs? Despite Eriks complete lack of tact, those plugs still keep me in OS9/ DP3.11.

We are in exactly the same boat DP 3.11 here too.

URS makes some cool eqs (from what i hear). I'll be loading my PB up with DP4 soon as a beta tester. They've got demos... I'm not sure if they've got AU yet.

PSP audioware has a new eq. I'm going to try that too when it hits AU.

I personally would like to see the UA stuff native for AU, latency from the card does not excite me.

Any others?

I did speak to MOTU tech about a month ago concerning the automatic latency compensation for the UAD-1 and Powercore cards and was told with no uncertainty that the programmers were working on the update and we would see it this year (Motu translation March of 2005) I like the idea of the powered cards but I'm no math wizard and figuring out the amount of offset to compensate for the cards latency does not appeal to me.

While I'm not familiar with DP and it's architecture, the UAD-1 has a delay compensation plug that can be configured for sends and busses. A pain yes, but before Sx had PDC it worked just fine. Dose this not apply to DP?

Dan, DP has a plug called Buffy that is supposed to compensate but my understanding is that it's about as useful as a football bat.

I'm just dabbling in  DP4.12 but I don't think anythings changed.
