30 September 1947 - 16 September 1977.  Hard to believe it's been thirty years.

Bolan was a genius.

i met tommy at SIR rehearsing across the hall from my band NITE CITY

nice enough cat....a bit aloof very psychedelically influenced and stumbled a bit...this would be in late 76 or early 77 i think
our guitarist was quite the gunslinger to be reckoned with so there was not much interaction with bolan in the pool lounge.  i'd sense a bit of rivalry there

but
i can't believe how much he looks like our old bass player

nigel harrison (who later went with blondie)!

index.php/fa/6192/0/

that's nigel on the left, door's ray manzarek, me, paul warren (now w/rod stewart), and the mysterious noah james

does anyone out there  know whatever happened to noah james?

can't find him and would love to talk to him

I think Marc Bolan and Tommy Bolin are often mistaken for brothers.  Tommy was great, though.

Nigel Harrison and Ray Manzarek in the same band(!)

Yes, they are gone.

Did you hear about the guy who is going to kill Bob Dylan?

(I haven't told anyone yet)

Rip Marc.

I've never been that fond of anything post Tanx, and the earlier Tyrannosaurus Rex stuff has a few too many wizards and unicorns for my liking, hah, but Electric Warrior, The Slider and Tanx are all pure genius.
