Small console rental in Chicago.....
« on: August 04, 2007, 01:55:28 PM »

Guitar Center won't help me out anymore which is surprising since I manage their account at the company I work for...sheesh.

I've been considering getting a small console to start mixing out of the box, but before I go spending the little money that I have I want to make sure it's right and that I like the workflow better.  (I hate mixing with a mouse)

Does anyone know where I can rent and/or borrow a small mixer  (16 to 24 channels) on the cheap?

Accutrack is expensive, and I haven't tried my luck with TC Furlong or RentComm yet.

Does anyone have something laying around I can rent from you?

If it's not for the sound of the console an external DAW controller
like the Mackie Control (or similar products from Tascam or Digi)
can give you back some console feeling, too.

I used to have an FW1884.  For some reason I'm keen on the idea of having 16 channels of EQ, faders, and auxes physically in front of me.

If the little Midas Venice stuff is of interest, and if not you should check it out, any decent local PA company will have a few you could probably get for cheap for a day or two.
