MP Forums Lockout--wow, that was quick
« on: April 23, 2004, 12:24:59 AM »

Hmm, I read yesterday in  the GM forum on the MusicPlayer site that GM was not going to abdicate there instantly, that he intended to hang around and be supportive there. However, it appears that the MP folks locked us all out there, because his whole forum has been tossed into Archives. Seems pretty abrupt. Hope ever there finds there way here Smile

Best to all,

Wow.  I haven't been back there yet, but I expect I will.  There is a wealth of good information hidden in there across all of us moderators over the last 4 years.

I tried to start a "Best Of" thread when it seemed like it was going down back when- didn't really take, but it would be a worthwhile project for someone (other than yourself) to make some kind of index or something... although a search pretty well covers it I suppose. Wish that could be the first thing you see going there instead of "tick, tick, tick"- well maybe someday.

Or, much easier, there could be a little blurb saying there's all kinds of great info here- try a search!

Hi all,

yes, that was a quick coup d'etat...a sure medicine for a headache.
Anyway, is it okay to use my MP forum nick here ? I did publish my bio there
and if I use a href in my signature where everyone can see what I do maybe I can hang out here...

It would be great is if there were some way to save a thread as a text file and be albe to save or print it.

If that's possible, I'm not aware of how....

Cheers and hopes for a great forum

Me, I'm happy to be here. We got George, Brad, and even Klaus!

My hope is that the S/N ratio here stays good. I applaud Klaus' policy of asking that folks actually post their names on his forum. This will hopefully keep folks polite...

Actually, I think that's a policy for the entire R/E/P... that's the best that could happen.

No, I think what you are referring to is that on REP the moderators have access to the poster's real identities if they want that info. We do not.

Klaus, OTOH, requests that posters sign their names, not just their 'handle'.

That said, I notice that everyone on this thread, anyway, is using their names. As you say, it's the best that could happen!

What I like most about the new scene is sort of an air of anticipation. Like first day of summer vacation back in the school days. You stick your head out of the door, smell the scents of summer. Strolls down the gravel road suddenly realizing: Anything is possible - today I can do whatever I want. (Jumps away, kiddie style  - disappears down the road...)

So thanks for being here and KUTGW!

I also did not understand the last discussion (a war?) between posters on GM's MP Forum...
And than I saw the forum as closed...
Finally I found George here...
I hope it will be great place to exchange experiences and opinions...
Best regards

I didn't understand that last thread, either.  Not much I could do about it....
