"The only Series featuring a Level 4 Speed of Light circuit"

You can't put that kind of technology in the hands of mere mortals!!  A Level 3, sure -- anyone knows that, but a LEVEL 4!!!

What if the terrorists get this technology?!  They will be unstoppable.  The only hope we have is that they can't drum up $13k for one.

On the other hand, if we don't continue to pay $350 for a power cord, then the terrorists have won already...

I've got to have a lie down.  Put a warm blanket on me -- I've got the shivers.

Exactly !

Hey, maybe this should be moved to the saloon? Although we all know how these mastering guys do love this esoteric stuff!

Dark Helmet: What happened? Where are they?
Colonel Sandurz: I don't know sir. They must have hyper jets on that thing.
Dark Helmet: And what do we have on this thing? A Cuisinart?
Colonel Sandurz: No, sir.
Dark Helmet: Well, find them, catch them!
Colonel Sandurz: Yes, sir.
[picks up the intercom]
Colonel Sandurz: Prepair ship for light speed.
Dark Helmet: No, no, no. Light speed is too slow.
Colonel Sandurz: Light speed is too slow?
Dark Helmet: Yes. We're gonna have go right to... ludicrous speed.
[everybody gasps]
Colonel Sandurz: Ludicrous speed? Sir, we've never gone that fast before. I don't know if this ship can take it.
Dark Helmet: What's the matter Colonel Sandurz? Chicken?

I seem to remember that my instructor in basic electronics told us that electrons flow at the speed of light already. If these guys have found a way to increase it then they should be working for NASA.

Didn't they use to call these people "snake oil" salesmen and tar a feather them and run them out of town on a rail? Seems to me I saw a couple of westerns on TV where the people did just that.

There must be a market for this kind of stuff but I always wonder who is buying it.

Oh well back to building transmission towers for my speaker lines out of tongue depressors. I don't want to have my electrons "grounded" by being to close to the floor.

Thanks for the laugh.

Actually the electrons barely move at all, but the charge goes 300,000 km/s.  But that's only in a vacuum, any conductor slows it way down to maybe 60 to 80% of the max.

They were selling "medicine."  No one ever dies from an expensive cable!  That site is unique as every single claim they make is either wrong or impossible........

Audiophiles are buying it.  We'll take the "SOL" joke as read.

Thumbs Up  And a good thing too, or (*squinting in thought about my physics books*) wouldn't you end up with every cable and wire and box in your studio exhibiting zero resistance & impedence, not to mention becoming exponentially - infinitely - more massive...   Confused

There's actually a much easier way of speeding up current in a wire rather than accelerating through electromagnetism, by shortening the distance electrons travel. I always use short runs and step on any new cables until they are nearly flat.

DC Thanks for the reply though you might be interested in this.

From the web....

The actual velocity of electrons through a conductor is measured as an average speed called drift speed. This is because individual electrons do not continue through the conductor in straight line paths, but instead they move in a random zig-zag motion, changing directions as they collide with atoms in the conductor. Thus, the actual drift speed of these electrons through the conductor is very small in the direction of current.

For example, the drift speed through a copper wire of cross-sectional area 3.00 x 10-6 m2, with a current of 10 A will be approximately 2.5 x 10-4 m/s or about a quarter of a milimeter per second.

So how does an electrical device turn on near instantaneously? If you think of a copper wire as a pipe completely filled with water, then forcing a drop of water in one end will result in a drop at the other end being pushed out very quickly. This is analogous to initiating an electric field in a conductor.

This site https://www.virtualdynamics.ca/content.php?id=126 is still hogwash IMHO and what they are selling is indeed "snake oil" since it is suppose to do something that is physically impossible.

This from the web

The snake oil peddler became a stock character in Western movies: a travelling "doctor" with dubious credentials, selling some medicine (such as snake oil) with boisterous marketing hype, often supported by pseudo-scientific evidence, typically bogus. To enhance sales, an accomplice in the crowd (a "shill") would often "attest" the value of the product in an effort to provoke buying enthusiasm. The "doctor" would prudently leave town before his customers realized that they had been cheated. This practice is also called "grifting" and its practitioners "grifters".
