Bogner
« on: June 22, 2009, 03:39:29 PM »

we used a Bogner Shiva and a Bogner Uberschall on the record we started cutting 3 weeks ago.

the uberschall is ours, the shiva belongs to one of the guitar players.  he just loaded out, and i feel naked and alone without the shiva.........looks like we'll have to buy one.

man those amps are killer!

something about those two amps together that is just awesome.

i'm also trying to get Peavey to build us a classic 50 head.  we have a combo, but a head would be awesome.  we can stack in the control room with all the other amps and run it out to the 4x12's.

Not a huge fan of the Uberschall, but the Shiva rules.  Tons of Shiva on the new Chevelle record (both 6L6 and EL34 versions).

Word of advice, if and when you get a shiva, take off the back (permanently), and have a hole cut in the front panel and a fan installed.  They run hot and are not well-ventilated (so unless you like replacing output tubes...)

Oh, and be careful moving them around.  Bogners tend to be not so road-worthy.

Oh, and Weber may have a cabinet that would fit the Peavey.

every one seems to say that about the uberschall, then they hear the tones we get out of it and change their mind.

granted, we're working mostly in drop C, and the uber does great with the thick hard rock tones we're going for.

we don't move these amps hardly ever.  they sit in the control room and get turned on and off, that's it.

for various other things we have:

marshall jmp
marshall plexi
marshall slash signature series (which is a silver jubilee)
Mesa dual rec
peavey classic 50
vox AC 30
Sovtek Mig 60
acoustic GT60
traynor 50 watt head

i think we have our bases covered, and that doesn't even count the two racks of guitars we have.
