Speaking of preamps alone, who makes their product to fit the API 500 series standard besides;

1) API
2) A Designs
3) Buzz Audio
4) Purple Audio
5) Shadow Hills
6) Old School Audio
7) Brent Averill
Cool Eisen Audio

Secondly I've heard talk of John Hardy, Geoff Daking, Wade Goeke, Rupert Neve and Dan Kennedy all planning on offering their product in this format, when might this happen? Especially Hardy. Will Speck also offer a preamp to add to their EQ.

Great River is coming out with one based on the MP-2NV channel... its going to be 2 units wide [draws A LOT of current!! and there are a lot of very nice sounding transformers inside that have to be big to get the sound and compromise is not an option].

You mean like this one,

index.php/fa/5003/0/

I thought he said that it would not draw more current than the average pre, besides would'nt the 'alliance' specs require the current draw fall under a certain amount lets say two slots worth.
