All good things must come to an end...
« on: October 18, 2011, 02:30:49 PM »

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well.

I've decided to step down from the forums as admin / mod here at R/E/P and close Mastering Demystified - I simply don't have the time to dedicate to it anymore. I truly appreciate all of you and all you've shared over the years - I've learned and laughed a lot with you guys. I truly wish you all the best, but I've been considering this for months now (you may have noticed how little I've been participating...).

Anyway, I'm sure Fletcher will find a great replacement for me and the new mastering forum will roll along better than ever. I'll see you all now and then on this and other forums as I have time.

If anyone needs to get in touch with me and doesn't have my email, just hit me from the Euphonic website.

Cheers and keep cutting great records!

Sad to see you go, Brad.

You've maintained a high-quality board here and I very much appreciate all you've done to make a great web-home for us ME's.

Thank you!

Future space aliens looking at the archives will see that you helmed some uniquely substantive forums during a time when the state-of-the-art had a much higher noise-floor.

Enjoy the reclaimed brainspace, Beeb.  I tip my invisible hat.

Wow, I didn't see it coming either! This is a sad day, but as you say, all good things must come to an end.

Here's a little history from my part: I'm not sure on which year I began visiting Brad's forum the first time. I think it must have been the year 2002 or 2003, and after that the forum has moved two times. I started my own business in 2005, and now I'm in my 3rd room. Things are good for me.

No other place had such an amount of sane professionals that set me straight one time after another. I have learned so much here, and I consider this forum (and the ones before) the single most important thing that has happened to me during my career. There's so much bullshit around it's unbelievable, but somehow Brad's forums always stayed clean of it. Either Brad's a lightning fast moderator or the stink just always kept out because I can't remember seeing much of it.

I suppose the requirement of using your own name here has always been a part of it. I'm all for Internet anonymity, but on professional forums identification is only a good thing.

Thank you Brad for keeping the S/N ratio low, and thank you to all of the participating members of this community. I hope you people have learned as much as I have.

Brad,

Thanks for letting a non-ME to ask the dumb questions.

Best of luck with future endeavours.

Cheers,
Tim

+1 what he said!

i don't frequently post here, but i do read just about everything.  one of the main reasons i like this forum is the lack of ß$ and the suppression of "flames".  everyone is knowledgeable and intelligent, and great professional discussions take place.  many thanks to Brad for the years at the helm of the best professional mastering forum on the interwebs ;-)

in the future, i think this community of mastering engineers will continue to keep intelligent, professional discussions alive, whoever the moderator ends up being.

thanks again to Brad and all who participate in this wonderful community,

I also wanted to thank you Brad for moderating this and the old forum.  Both the knowledge you freely share/d with others and fair-minded monitoring of the board has definitely set the tone for intellectual and positive conversation.  I also appreciate the topics you had/have started on this forum, much of which has sparked informative discourse between the mastering minded.

Sorry to hear that Brad.

This is the best mastering forum on the web. You have done an exceptional job of running it for all these years and you will be MISSED!

I hope this means that your business has taken off and you are simply too busy to moderate.

Please don't stop participating even when you are not the moderator. Your wisdom and humor make this place what it is.

Take care and be safe.

Being relatively new to the interwebs mastering discussion groups,  I've certainly learned a lot from this and the older psw forum under your helm. Thanks Brad.

That's precisely the reason - just not enough hours in the day anymore.
