New Website
« on: September 12, 2011, 07:02:36 AM »

Hi everyone,

We have a new website: http://www.24-96.com

It has pretty pictures and everything!

Hope it's not too vain to post it here... the old site lasted over 8 years, so I promise not to do that again until 2019 :)

Nice, very nice, Robin.

Looks like a lot of thought has gone in, I liked touches such as the colour key on the artist page as an alternative to abbreviations. I found the background pictures a little slow to load, but my internet connection isn't the fastest.

IMO you've every right to be proud of the site, hope it brings in loads of enquiries.

Very nice pictures and web flow, Robin.  I love the VMS-80 and SP console that Bjorn is using.    Nice 462, in your desk.
You must have the best studio in Germany.

I spent the night in Karlsruhe (with my best friend, Karl - naturlische - and his mom) in August 1983.   We dropped off our 7" 33.3 rpm Punk EP around some shops in different towns.   Was driving all around Germany, including the East (Dresden, mostly).  Then up to Hamburg and down to München.   Karl's mom, who was curator of our local museum,  took us to every Kunsthalle und galerie im Deutschland.     I especially liked seeing Salvador Dali's futuristic crucifix, but I don't remember the stadt.  Koeln?  Anyway, Tschuß von Zinzinnati!

Beautiful site and studio Robin.
Out of curiosity, How do you have your gear patched?  Does it run in series?  Or is there a insert bay tucked away somewhere?

Excellent site, love it!

Björn is my favourite cutting engineer in Europe, too.

Hey Robin,

I remember saving a picture of your studio to my "mastering studios" folder. Where did the big Duntech/Dunlavy's go?

Thanks everyone! Really glad it's well received.

I found the background pictures a little slow to load, but my internet connection isn't the fastest.

Thanks for mentioning that! I've been considering reducing the background sizes. Though I've gotten that criticism from only one other person so far, so I'm weighing my options. If the backgrounds were pretty slow for anyone else, I'd really appreciate it if you let me know via message or mail ([email protected]).

the couch is not flat!...left side of the right pillow is at least 1dB off  ;D

That's dithering! TPDF (Third Pillow Density Function) to be precise.

I love the VMS-80 and SP console that Bjorn is using. Nice 462, in your desk. You must have the best studio in Germany.

I wish! There are some serious gear heads in Germany whose collection of stuff absolutely dwarfs my little setup. And I should add that the VMS80 is Björn's, and is not here in the building. BTW, if you ever come by Karlsruhe again, let me know and drop by!

Out of curiosity, How do you have your gear patched?  Does it run in series?  Or is there a insert bay tucked away somewhere?

It's patched in series, no router. All gear has a hardwire bypass though, except for the 462 (which is used in just about every session anyway :) I've been tempted recently to add a switcher, if only to be able to use gear without a true bypass (without having to mod it first). But then that would take up valuable gear space in the rack. Argh, it's a paradox!

Björn is my favourite cutting engineer in Europe, too.

That's so cool! I didn't know that. I'll say hi from you tomorrow :)

Where did the big Duntech/Dunlavy's go?

I sold the Duns (SC5) quite a while ago. The short story is: I wanted to replace the two separate sets I had before (Genelec 5.1 & Dunlavy Stereo) with a single system. 5 x SC 5 would've been pretty impractical anyway, so I was open to check out other options. Along came Andreas Balaskas from Masterlab and showed me the Lipinskis and I loved them... so they stayed.
